Building Bridges for Brianna, York College of PA, System of Care presents MY ASCENSION movie screening and panel discussion.
A suicide attempt left 16-year-old varsity cheerleader, Emma Benoit, paralyzed, but propelled her on a mission to use her painful experience to help others find hope & stay alive.
The MY ASCENSION film chronicles Emma's inspiring journey & quest to walk again.
The film also highlights the stories of two remarkable young people who tragically did not survive their attempts, & we learn first-hand from their families, friends, school officials & experts about the devastating effects of suicide & what can be done to prevent it.
Following the film viewing, Emma will join a panel discussion with Del Franz, York/Adams MH-IDD & Matt Dorgan, father of Brianna, who died by suicide in 2020 & founder of Building Bridges for Brianna, an organization in honor of his daughter to raise awareness about mental health & provide support for individuals at risk of suicide.
Special thanks to DaniBea Photography for capturing special moments and for beautifully preserving memories that will be cherished forever.
